Legacy Project Fund
TagEnergy has committed to a $5 million Legacy Project Fund which would see a major community project, or projects, delivered in the region. The fund is dedicated to delivering community initiatives that will leave a lasting impact on the communities of Black Springs, Burraga, Oberon, and Trunkey Creek. This $5 million Legacy Project Fund is in addition to other funding announcements that have been made in relation to the project.
To ensure that the ideas, needs, and long‑term aspirations of local people guide this investment, a Legacy Project Committee is being established. The committee will be made up of community representatives from the Oberon and Bathurst Local Government Areas, commencing in 2026.
Any community members who are interested in joining the Legacy Project Committee should lodge an expression of interest here before the end of May 2026.

What will the Legacy Project Committee do?
The Legacy Project Committee will play a central role in shaping how the $5 million Legacy Project Fund is invested across the region. The committee will work collaboratively to determine how the Legacy Project Fund is directed and which initiatives will deliver the greatest benefit.
Responsibilities include:
1. Shaping the Terms of Reference
Committee members will discuss, refine, and advise on the Terms of Reference that guide the Legacy Project Fund. These Terms will set out how projects are assessed for suitability and how the committee works together to make fair, consistent decisions
2. Reviewing community submissions
Members will review proposed projects and provide advice on the initiatives that best support and strengthen the local communities around The Pines Wind Farm. This may involve selecting a single major project or recommending multiple smaller initiatives, depending on what delivers the greatest benefit.
3. Supporting sustainable, long-term outcomes
A key focus of the committee is identifying projects that will offer long‑term community value. This includes initiatives that enhance wellbeing, support economic or environmental resilience, and benefit those communities most directly impacted by The Pines Wind Farm.
Why get involved?
Becoming a member of the Legacy Project Committee is a unique opportunity to directly shape how significant funding is invested in your region.
